Money held by bank on completion day

Afternoon all!
Exchanged yesterday, completion is today.
Received message from my soliciator today that completition has happened. Can also see the new mortgage in my Halifax account.
Had a call from the EA - The vendors soliciator has not received the money as yet. They are not sure if there is an issue with Barclays, or whether it has been held for a Money Laundering Check. The vendors soliciator still believes completion will take place today, but obviously can't complete until he sees the funds in his account.
Any idea what happens in this situation if the bank don't resolve this by close of play? Cautious that they close in 3 hours and then it's the weekend.

It's the solicitors who determine whether completion has happened, why is the EA getting involved? What is your solicitor saying? Bank transfers happen any time during the working day, there's plenty of the afternoon left.
