Changing region on Galaxy Watch 3?

Bit of a long shot maybe but as I'm set to leave for work and I'm registered here but I'm not on any Samsung or android forum yet, I'll ask here.
For the previous thread searchers, yes this is linked to my thread in consumer rights forum.

I'd like to change the region to UK to unlock the features a UK watch has.
I searched and the 1 and only English You tube video I found had some files to download that you need to do the job. They all download fine except for the 1.5GB firmware file which when you try to open says is invalid file or corrupt (winrar) and can't open archive (7zip) or some error message to that effect.

I tried searching suitable firmware but it's a bit of a minefield. I don't really know what needle to pick from the haystack.

Just wondering if anyone can help out before I have to register on a watch specific forum.
Thanks.

  • As I've never had such a device, nor tried to flash firmware on one, I can merely speculate ... does the firmware flashing routine require you to unpack the ZIP file first?

Firmware flashing does not usually require unpacking unless a zip or tar or .img file within the zip .

I quick skimmed the video but I actually watched fully the part that mentioned downloading the files. So I stopped the video there really and went to download them.

I got them all fine but obviously the 1.5GB one took a while.
Having experienced bad zip files in the past I simply just opened them up to see what was inside and whether it'd open.

They all opened up except for the firmware one which said something like invalid extension or corrupt. I ASSUMED that this meant it was a bad file as I thought all zip files needed to be able to be opened up to be of any use.

Note: for clarification, I'm not talking about extracting, I'm just talking about seeing what files are inside the zip.
  • Which video? (Someone else may decide to download the files so they can give better-informed advice).

When i search "Change region on Galaxy Watch 3" I get various results. Some show up other Samsung watches and i believe the way to do those will be a bit different. Files will probably be different.

But i see only 2 versions. One that i think may be Russian, and an English speaking version:
