  • You are unlikely to get any further useful advice here if you don't answer the questions people have asked.
You have said that you have sent them a photo of the meter reading on the "contraption", but then say that you are unable to read the "contraption" to compare your readings with their reading.
We have tried asking for updated bills, complaints made re money owed, sent them photos of reading on contraption as requested to which not acknowledged
As I know how to take readings and work out the cost from old meters so always had monthly bills spot on but this contraption does not allow me to do that so can’t check my readings with theirs.
Both of those statement cannot be true (that you can't read it BUT you can send a picture of the readings), so which is it?
If this is a legitimate issue that you are posting about, then you should post the picture of the "contraption" that you sent to the supplier, so that people can advise you further.

It rather looks like @Tricia58 has found out how to read her actual meter, done her sums and found the error in her claim.

  • No readings on meter in garage and pic sent of contraption in house showed daily usage as explained before.  So again no meter reads, not able to do my sums as nothing to work with but not rocket science if monthly online bill telling you that bill is less than DD.  Thanks for trying to help but now been advised which route to go down to fight this

As before forget the IHD contraption and please send us a photo of the meter so we can help further.

Can't fight without the facts and you are not giving us anything to work with.
The IHD can usually show the meter reading, not just the daily usage, you just have to find where it is hidden in the menu options, similarly we can help you read your meters if you would just show us what the meters look like, or at least give us the make/model details printed on the meter...

Online bills are showing overpaid on average  £20 month (ie DD £52, usage £30/£34) so don’t see how owe them, certainly during summer months .............
but in the winter months probably much too little (particularly if there's are form of heating)

Some statements can be very misleading - those tariffs which have a 3 or 6 month cycle only show DD credits and and credit/debit from the last bill - they may not show the cost of energy used in that period.

Billing can also go wrong at the time of meter changes.

    Plenty of scope @Tricia58

From what you've said I can't see you what info you have to "fight"  with.  Feelings are not enough - you need data.

@Tricia58 doesn't seem to understand that the lack of a permanent display on the meter on the wall doesn't mean that it's faulty, only that it doesn't work the same way as the old meters with which she is more familiar.
Unfortunately she seems unable or unwilling to provide the information needed for the meter to be identified and operating instructions given.

Think OP has taken advice somewhere else.  :'(

Pity as a few minutes posting photo of actual meter may have helped.

Hopefully OP will come back with outcome/ solution as it may help others in future.
