credit card bill/payment

Options
Hi,
I've some questions as I rarely use credit card for payment.
I usually pay my balance in full every month and the payment due date is on the 5th of every month.  If I use my credit card today for online purchase, assuming the order processed straight away and payment taken today, do I still need to pay the balance on the 5th?  or it will go to the next month balance/statement?

Please advise.
Many thanks.
San

It'll appear on the next statement that is produced and be due on the payment date following that.

I posted an almost identical question earlier today myself.  If I was paying attention to all the expert help offered to me then it seems that its the statement date that is key - my statement date is 13th of each month and it says payment due by 8th following month.  I now know that if I spend on my credit card this weekend then it will be on my next statement of spending dated 13th December and due for payment by 8th Jan 2020.

For you, similar dates... - Your last statement of spending would probably be dated around 10/11th November - due to be paid 5th December.  so any spend right now will be on your next statement dated (im guessing) 10/11 Dec and payment will be by 5th Jan.

    Hope this helps

Generally, yes. Most do collect by DD on the payment due date. However, you do need to be a bit wary if you're talking about American Express. They collect DDs a bit before the money is actually due. For example, my payment due date was 13 November, but the DD collection was 2 November. So you get a bit less time to pay if you use a DD there.

I'm not aware of any other card issuers tat do this, but do be a bit wary: they might exist.
