i have both setup on different devices i've used it online but not in store before i would probably use my apple watch as it seems to be easier and more convient i did try to use apple pay using my aqua card to get the free tenner they were offering but for some reason aqua didn't work so its not without its problems.chistery said:If you have a phone, use Apple Pay or Google pay, then you won't have to use your PIN after a number of uses.0 -
i still haven't passed an ATM to try this out so i'm hoping when i do it will workphillw said:
I have a card that refuses to work in Savers, It works everywhere except there. I had always put it down to being rejected because my cards processing fee was too high for them. I have had a replacement for that that card, so I may test that theory.older_wiser said:Now IMO either the contactless element is damaged i think thats the more likely scenerio or that it needs to be unlocked at the ATM i assumed though that by using it to purchase an item by pin this would have unlocked it ? Another possibility perhaps is that the card is unreliable on certain terminals again no idea if that can happen.
It's been a long time since I visited an ATM to get a contactless card to work, not since tsb were offering 5% cash back on contactless purchases and so I never ever wanted to enter the PIN in a shop (fortunately I had two that I could cycle between).
it did cross my mind with it only being denied on public transport that was the problem as its been denied twice on different occasions i'm not sure why/if some terminals would work but others don't it has worked prior to this though so my hunch is that it either needs to be unlocked at an ATM or the nfc chip is somehow damaged as i believe thats what makes contactless transactions work.0 -
Looking forward to your ATM-visit report!1

Savers don’t accept Amex but other cards should be accepted by them.0

an update for you loljsmith9 said:Looking forward to your ATM-visit report!
i was able to unlock the pin at the ATM earlier this week and then used it today contactless at a local store so hopefully thats the problem resolved.
I won't be using public transport for a week or more which was where the original problem started so the theory of it not working on certain terminals might still crop up but i'm hoping thats not the problem.
thanks again for your suggestion

It helped me. I’ve had exactly this problem with an MBNA MasterCard for several months. I followed your procedure and so far so good, the contactless functionality is working. Thanks.
