Interestingly, having sent numerous secure messages, emails, speaking on the phone (on hold 1hr 20 mins), I sent a letter.  Within approximately 10 days my issue (account payments/investments missing/wrong), was resolved.

Are people still having problems with the Pru?

DH wants to tee up a "small pot" withdrawal  from them for early September and we're wondering when to contact them, and how long it might take.

Ideally we'd like the money asap, but at the very latest during this tax year!!!

    Chances?
It must be a common thing this go slow on payments ,my wife closed her very small pension ( less than £4,500 ) with Legal and General ,started in Feb but only received the funds to-day .

It would appear that a letter is the way to go.  He just tried phoning and the call queue is currently 1 hour !!!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

I am having issues with the Pru on a similar manner and I have had to raise a complaint because I cannot get the information I want on a pension that is due to be paid in four weeks, been calling them now for 6 weeks and still no response

With a letter at least your query will be placed in a defined work queue for processing.

Do you think it's worth sending it with any proof of delivery requirement, or just a proof of postage, or just trust to the standard postal system?.   Seeing as we do have some time on our side at the moment.

How much personal information, should go in an initial letter?     Just name and policy number at this stage.   I'm guessing they'll eventually want DOB, NI number and bank details.    But that'll go on the official forms, I guess?

I sent my letter by normal first class mail, however I think it would have been more prudent to pay extra for the special / recorded delivery option.  And if people might be raising a formal complaint and require proof of the timing on events this would seem the sensible option.

More than likely all incoming mail will be scanned. Days of paper floating around offices and getting lost is long gone.

Just as a by the way.... I sent my letter to the complaints department.  I felt I needed to go via this route as my account is an AVC scheme and Prudential would not liaise with myself, and the scheme administrators and employer had all tried to contact Prudential without success.

Well, we've decided to send the first letter normal post, and see what happens.    Next letter will send with proof of postage, and if still no response, then it will be a complaint.     Lets just see what happens.
