Flooring in rented flat advice please

I'm renting a flat at the moment that has laminate flooring in the hallway, kitchen and bathroom, and carpets in the bedroom and living room.
The laminate in the kitchen and bathroom is ok but the laminate in the hallway just through normal use is all rippled and has come lose just through normal use and needs replacing and or relaying.
The current new management agency have just been out today (St Leger Homes) who aren't the landlord they're just managing the properties for the landlord and taken photos and said they'd get a quote for it as it will be a 3rd party that does the job, which sounds like they're expecting me to pay for it.
I didn't provide the flooring, I didn't lay it badly and I didn't pay for it in the first place so obviously I'm not liable for it.
Anyone have any thoughts??

It sounds like they will employ a 3rd party to do it rather than doing it themselves.1

They're not going to expect you to pay for it, as a tenant it isn't your responsibility. They simply mean they'll get someone in to quote for replacing it and pass that to the landlord to approve it.3

Nothing that you have said indicates that they are expecting you to pay for it, they simply wanted to do their own assessment to see the severity of the problem and whether it was due to malicious or accidental damage caused by you. If it wasn't, then you have nothing to be concerned about: they will obtain a quote, get the LL's consent, and do the repair. Perfectly normal way to proceed, as they have to contract the work out.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I am a landlord and we have an EA who looks after some of our houses . Things just wear out. Things just need replacing. We use 3rd party trades people all the time and the only time i have ever asked for anyone to pay for something was when they smashed the drawers in a fridge freezer. Other than that repairs are paid for by me. You are the tenant so it is a "perk " I suppose of it not being yours in that when things break, boilers, floors etc you don't have to pay. ( as long as it is wear and tear and you have not shamed them to bits )Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

It's not 'a perk' it's an obligation.2
