Have a look at the Curve forum - it's insurance policy has some exclusions/limits that are not as generous as some other policies0

My Curve card never seems to work. I've tried it at Amazon, Deliveroo, eBay. It just declines. Even though it's linked to a card that has plenty of available funds0

I've only ever had one decline, with HMRC, and it was shortly after moving house. I had updated the address on the underlying card but not with Curve themselves.1 -

Although you can add funds to your Curve balance I doubt most people use it that way.1 -

In answer to your question on refunds, curve is a card that charges an underlying credit or debit card. When you get a refund on it, they will try to match it to a transaction you have done - for example if you buy something from tesco that costs 10.20 and return it then it should be matched and go back onto your normal account.
Sometimes they can't match a payment with a transaction, for example if you had been shopping in Tesco and charged your purchases over time to a credit card and a different debit card, they can't match the transaction to a particular account unless the refund is for a previously spent transaction amount. Curve instead put the money on a 'curve cash' virtual card, but you can just spend the money from this in shops as normal.
This and for the cashback you will earn on the premium card are the only things that go into the curve cash balance, you can't 'top up' the balance.
I've generally found my card to be pretty reliable apart from when Wirecard went down, they've switched to another provider now.0
