A bit tired of naff bamboo canes snapping under the weight of over productive Borlotto! Is there a happy medium between a permanent Frame and flimsy bamboo for building a seriously robust bean A-Frame? All suggestions welcome !

My builders' merchant sells trellis battens; a bit thinner than roofing battens, but pressure treated the same. Not every DIY place will stock them and they're 3.6m long, but they go in my van!

Thanks both, really good and kind advice!  <Thinks> there are two active building sites nearby.... time to have a chat with the chippies doing the roofs!
