How to complete a balance transfer without card details?

Options
I've managed to secure a 29 month 0% balance transfer offer on a new TSB credit card.  I have a closed Halifax credit card account that I have been paying off at a set amount each month, I don't have a card for this.

I would like to use the 0% offer on my new card to pay this balance off but I can't find a way to do this without having a card expiry date.

I thought that I may have been able to transfer the money to my current account and pay it from there but the card does not offer a money transfer option.

Is there a way I can do this?

Comments

  • When you say the card is closed - do you meant it has defaulted?
If so you may find it very difficult to achieve what you want with a balance transfer card.
If it is closed to new transactions but still 'live' do you have an old card with an expiry date - try 2/3/4 years after this.

It was a card with an outstanding balance and they card provider was increasing the interest rate hut I had the option to accept the increase and keep the card open or close the account and pay off the balance at the interest rate it was fixed at at the time.  I can't locate the card as I'm pretty sure I got rid of the card when I closed the account.
  • Why do you need a card expiry date? I have never had to supply anything but the 16 digit card number for a BT

I'm trying to complete it online and it asks for the card number and expiry date.  I thought in the past I have only had to provide 16 digit card number but for this account t it requests the expiry date too.
  • Ring the card company and ask if they can give you an expiry date.
