Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement

Hi, I'm having a few problems with my landlord and his solicitor has now written to me quoting clauses within the tenancy agreement a copy of which they attached, it's been a while since i've looked at my copy,, I've noticed that the agreement has never been signed by the landlord or his agent and also that its for an entirely different property to the one i'm in, does this make it invalid?

Sounds like it.But why not look at your copy and see if it is the same?And whether you have indeed breached clauses within your copy?Out of interest, and to enable us to advise you further/better, what does the LL allege you have done?1

Of course, if it's the wrong property, the document is irrelevant, EXCEPT:
1. The landlord may well use exactly the same lease for all his properties. So, you're just delaying, and you need to address the underlying issue.
2. You exchange contracts with the landlord. You sign his copy, and he signs yours. The fact he hasn't signed the copy signed by the tenant is irrelevant.
I suspect also that the signature on the agreement may be yours? So, are you just saying that there's a typo in the agreement you signed, and the address is wrong? I fear you're on a hiding to nothing with that one.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
