Estate accounts

Hi does anyone know how long an executor should keep estate accounts? I have googled but found various answers so am unsure.

Thanks,

HMRC say they may require to see them for up to 20 years, along with some other information. I am not sure if anyone else requires you to keep them longer. I wonder how many non professional executors keep them that long in practice.

I have estate information and docs going back 2 generations just in case.
Never know when you might need a certificate, will or grant if another inheritance comes out of the blue from a distant relative.
10 years ago, we had an issue that had been unresolved from a grandfathers death many years previously, going back through the paperwork resolved it.

They take up very little room even even with a few peoples docs.
