living in lodgings - how to get contents insurance?

Hi,
I have been living in lodgings for quite a while now, until i actually realised it was about time I insured my stuff as it got bigger and bigger and more expensive as well. Thing is the only people who would insure me round are Zurich and they are asking me for 145 pounds for 10k contents insurance. What a rip-off, my boyfriend also lives in lodgings and got 100 pounds.
Any ideas, or other provider that would help me bring this down?

Apologies, assumed you was a student. I lodge myself. Endsleigh do a policy called RE1 which is contents only insurance for people who rent/lodge. You can't get a quote off the web site, you have to give them a call, try 0121 236 9960.0

I also used Endsleigh when I was lodging and was happy with them.
If you live in a town with a uni you might find an office on the campus.0
