    Interest will only be compounded once credited to the account (if the account is below the threshold). Also, and this is fairly pedantic, your formula was calculating a closing balance rather than interest.
    To calculate interest for GBP it'd be (Balance x Rate x Days)/36500   [a personal choice - I put the rate in as an actual figure when calculating rather than a percentage]
