Thanks Soolin.
I mainly get rid of clothing and personal belonging on eBay so send a lot second class large letter, this seems a big jump, £1.40 goes up to £1.53. At least small parcel only goes up by 10p to £3.20.1 -
Price increases used to be once a year from the Royal Mail. This is the third lot since the end of March!1

They used to be prevented by law from more than one price increase per year, now they aren't.goodfella66 said:Price increases used to be once a year from the Royal Mail. This is the third lot since the end of March!

I'm betting my dvd subscription service will have to raise their prices again.
Between no new releases, no same day (past 9am collection) postbox closer than a 20min round trip by foot (I am disabled) and the rumoured axing of Saturday letters, that's me finished with that business. I simply won't be able to get enough value out of a subscription to justify the cost.
And yes I have two subscription streaming services, as well as the free apps, postal rental is for the titles available on no service or on a service I don't have.0 -
I send a lot of Small Parcels, signed for most of things and unsigned when it goes to eBay GSP. This will affect my shipping, as I don't trust Hermes and prefer RM with more valuable items. Well, will have to increase prices on eBay to compensate.

Why do you pay for signed for - are you sure it's worth it? You get a code with small parcels that (normally) shows on delivery and standard post covers up to £20 and signed for is only needed to increase the cover to £50. I never bother with signed for as losses are very infrequent and the extra money spent using it far exceeds the occasional loss. I'm also not sure of your logic of using a different postage method for GSP.[Deleted User] said:I send a lot of Small Parcels, signed for most of things and unsigned when it goes to eBay GSP. I haven't compared app the price changes yet but some are definitely increasing sharply such as £1.45 to £1.70 for a letter to Europe.
And that £1.45 had already increased twice this year already...0 -

Yeah I've been thinking about it myself. Unsigned has no "KB" number to track, therefore I cannot prove to PayPal claim that item has been delivered. Signed For has got Proof of Delivery so I am covered. With unsigned, someone opens claim "not received" and I am screwed. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Standard parcels have a reference number, which provide delivery confirmation if you put them into the Track and Trace tool on RM's website. It doesn't provide tracking before delivery, but then neither does Signed For anyway.[Deleted User] said:martindow said:

As per Spoonie-Turtle's excellent response paypal require proof of delivery not tracking, and standard small parcels now have proof of delivery online and will satisfy either a paypal or ebay claim. For a claim for fraudulent use of a card only proof of posting is required, so again that is satisfied just with a PO stamped receipt.[Deleted User] said:martindow said:

The issue is with large letters as standard mail does not have proof of delivery. However paying an extra £1.10 per letter plus all extra ebay and paypal costs means you must anticipate an awful lot of scammy buyers. Say each one costs you an additional £1.30 and your average item cost per large letter is £13 that means you anticipate losing 1 in 10 large letters to a scam buyer - do you honestly think the rate of scammers is that high?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
