Money back?

Hello guys,
I would like to know if there is any chance of getting my money back? Last year( December) I have borrowed my friend with £500 ( online transfer) and looks like he doesn't want to give my money back. When a friend asks to borrow money it's a bit difficult to refuse, especially when is only £500. Is not the first time when I borrow him money and every time was very difficult to get them back. The only proof I have is the bank statement . The only person who knows about this is my girlfriend. What can I do ?
I would really appreciate your help.
thanks.

Without any written agreement I think you will struggle to enforce any action.0

If this has happened more than once and you have continued to lend them money then you must realize you are being taken for a mug.
There is a small word answer to this and it's NO.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.6 -
I see your point.
In future, if I do a written agreement( a hand written piece of paper) will it help?0 -
Judging by your post there shouldn't be another time. Lending money to friends rarely ends well because more often than not people are happy to lose a friendship rather than pay money back.7

Little chance if you lent it informally.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

They are not your friend. You are unlikely to see your "acquaintance" or your money again. Chalk it up to experience and move on. And for future reference, saying no is not difficult.3

If they have to borrow from a company that requires that it means their credit is shot to pieces and can't get main stream lending a big red flag!!!! So a big fat NO.I was lucky and only got caught the once when I was 21 and it was £500 never ever againYoursCalley xHope for everything and expect nothing!!!

when you lend money to friends and family, you have to think that there is a high probability that you won't be paid back. my husband is always lending money to his friends and they take forever to pay him back but he never says no to them as he is an idiot.0

I think you always have to consider it a gift and if it is paid back then it's a bonus. I'm glad you said 'only' £500 so perhaps just think of it as a lesson learned and don't do it again. Never a borrower or a lender be....1
