Removing an overdraft

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it!

I want to pay off and remove my barclays overdraft, will there be any negative effects on my credit file by doing this? I remember hearing something years ago that removal of any credit facility could have a negative effect as it's not clear on your file who has removed said facility...

Thanks

Unless there's a self-control issue, why not just leave the facility intact after paying it off, you never know when it might come in useful?
  • I agree with the banker - pay it off (there will be no charge just for having the facility) - you never know when you will desperately  need emergency funds.
