CCJ Advice Please!!

A few months ago, I received a private parking fine that I felt I was in a very strong position to defend so I let the notices continue to arrive expecting one of two outcomes, either they give up or we go to court (I was perfectly happy to defend in court).
Unfortunately, I didn’t see the court letter so my non-reply essentially defaulted to me being found in error in my absence (not surprisingly TBF) and have now received a county court demand for payment.
My question is, does this now count as a CCJ on my credit history? As much as I would like to defend myself against the awful honey-trap private parking company, my credit record is more important to me so would pay if needs be.
Is this a "black mark" CCJ? What are my options?
Thanks in advance.

I struggle to see why the explanatory notes regarding how to make payment aren't clear.
What is the date of the judgment. You get 28 days to pay before an unpaid judgment debt is registered for 6 yrs.

How did you fail to see the brown envelope definitely from an official source court form?!
before embarking on a costly set aside, which so far you've !!!!!! alll chance of success at as you ignored a claim firm (yes, you did, from the courts perspective )
tell us the date of judgement. Hopefully you've been a bit more timely here...2 -
I didn’t see the court letter
Could you expand on this please? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -

Sorry but I just don't understand what I'm reading there, there is so much information its difficult to absorb - I can't even work out which one is post #2 - Is it the one dated "12 January 2014 at 7:42PM edited 19 November at 11:08PM"?
I'm sure it's not a scam CCJ (and private-eye is the claimant btw). It's from "County Court Business Centre" (Northampton), which appears to be a private company that administers genuine county court business but has loads of dubious Google reviews - most saying its a scam court but they do issue CCJs. I'm very confused.

It's a government office , like the DVLA , civil service , set up as a one stop shop for online court claims
It is not a County Court , that is a different address in Northampton
Despite people asking for post numbers to be brought back , mse have failed to do so , nothing to do with us
Private eye is a magazine , so not the claimant , you mean Parking Eye , totally different business
If you ignored a correctly addressed government letter in brown paper , you won't get a set aside
What date is on the CCJ notification , because you only have 28 days or so to pay ?1 -

Really?? Please check that.vman said:It's from "County Court Business Centre" (Northampton), which appears to be a private company that administers genuine county court business but has loads of dubious Google reviews - most saying its a scam court but they do issue CCJs.
Google County Court Business Centre.
Look at all the .gov.uk webpages listed.
It's a Government office, just like the DVLA is a Government Office.1 -

"I struggle to see..." why the tone? If I wasn't struggling with this I wouldn't have posted. I'm finding the whole thing a complex minefield, I'm finding it quite stressful.
The link you provided is for the "proper" county court, mine is from "county court business centre" which appears to be a private company who handles their administration. It is interesting but does seem to imply the 28 days is quite optional. There is a comment "if you pay in full within one month you can ask the court to cancel entry into the register" - this doesn't sound like a slam dunk, and there are no instructions on how to ask the court to set this aside.

Yes it is optional.
If you choose to take the option, then, as stated, you can ask the court to cancel the entry in the register.
If you choose not to take that option, the entry will remain on the register for six years.
Your choice.2
