george4064 said:Not quite sure what you mean?I am suggesting it might be quite a painful drawn out process reregistering all those assets. I recall that Xylophone did a similar transfer of lots of assets from II to iWeb a few years ago which ended with "never again". At least the AJ Bell transfer team is above average competent.

@colsten ‘s recent thread on a successful in-specie transfer to iWEB gives me some comfort, appreciate it was from Halifax to iWEB, but still. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6249244/s-s-isa-transfer-to-iweb#latest"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

My experience of the dreaded in specie transfer matches that of xylophone (mine was HL to II). Mostly funds (and I consolidated holdings as much as I could prior to kicking off), 15 weeks IIRC. At least the right assets turned up on the other side, unlike some who were transferring between the same providers and at the same time as me.I wouldn't take too much comfort from colsten's experience transferring between brands under the same provider.0

Can @xylophone confirm if it was exchange traded assets or funds that they transferred?
It was funds.

Thanks all.
Im going to stick to the plan and request to in-specie all the shares, ETFs and ITs. Since I have no immediate or even medium term need for the funds, if it takes a while then that’s fine by me. At least it’s around the end of the tax year, so I can soon add new ISA contributions to the new iWEB ISA.
