Canon PIXMA Remote printing

Hello folks,
Trying to arrange to print remotely direct to my mums Canon MG5650 printer. Managed to register the printer to Canon's website and used my Android phone to schedule a print from OneDrive via the Canon Inkjet/SELPHY App on my Galaxy Note.
Trouble is that the App insists on being connected to my mums wi-fi locally and won't connect via on the go mobile/remote wi-fi.
Anyone know about this stuff by any chance? Canon instructions are clear as mud and it's taken two days to get this far.
Cheers!

can't you just send the file to her via email, or an sms giving the details for the file on OneDrive

This can only be done via a Cloud printing service, the Canon Inkjet only allows access using your phone on the same network as your printer. What cloud printing service are you using?Sprengeler said:Hello folks,

Thanks Neil. Google Cloud Print is going away at the end of this year, so was trying to register to Canon's own PIXMA Cloud Print via the Canon PRINT App.neilmcl said:

You'd still need to set up and register the printer to do that first.Sprengeler said:

Using the Inkjet/SELPHY App I get as far the data conversion stage to print a document and then it insists on being connected to the printer's local wi-fi otherwise it says 'Cannot communicate with the printer'.
I wonder how does the Canon Web Print Center actually communicate with the remote printer? Presumably it has to be switched on and communicating with the local router but does this have to be configured via WPS or some kind of more direct IP address?
