I will never run a machine over night. As I have known people who have had there machine to catch fire.

It was lucky it was during the day and they were around what would have happened at night is not worth thinking about.

Not just fire either. While some new machines time the water filling - most don't. So if you spring a serious leak your machine might spend all night trying to fill itself up.

Imagine how much water that could be!

I never leave mine running at night, nor when I'm out.

yes, that's white vinegar, although others have used malt vinegar with success (I wouldn't want to risk my whites TBH)

Any smell goes very quickly - either on the line or in the drier. The first time you use it, especially if, like me you didn't use fab con anyway, your clothes will feel 'squeaky clean'. I'm a definite convert :D

some machines have a little star for cold wash.
Ours has a stain removing cycle which is very long as it cold fills then heats up in the machine.
If you have a wool symbol that will be a quick wash too.
I think the more delicate the washing symbol, the quicker it will take to wash,so if it has symbols like the labels in your clothes, that might be some indication.

This is called a Profile Wash in the States. American machines with this feature havn't been on the market that long and they are going mad for them.

Thanks ticklemouse, about how much white vinegar should i put in for a full load? and is it ok on both whites and coloureds, plus if your clothes get wet again when wearing, do they start to smell of vinegar again. Sorry for all the questions, just want to get it right !!

Just put a couple of dessert spoons in. It is ok for colours and whites.

And no the smell does not come back.

I recently have been using a freebie sample of bold 2-in-1. And still put in vinegar for the final rinse. And the smell form the powder is so over powering I feel sick.

Your clothes smell clean and not of some artifical perfume.
