Premium bonds transfer date.

I'm waiting on a bank transfer to load up my premium bond account but it doesn't land until tomorrow.
If I transfer the funds tomorrow (the 1st). into my premium bonds account will it be too late for the December monthly draw, it's a large amount so don't really want it sitting there for a month doing nothing.
Thanks

Sadly, if your bonds are dated 1st December, they will not be eligible until the February draw. If you pay by debit card today you may be eligible for the January draw.shap101 said:I'm waiting on a bank transfer to load up my premium bond account but it doesn't land until tomorrow.

The draws are actually at the beginning of each month rather than the end, so December's draw is tomorrow, but yes, if you buy bonds today they'll be in the 1st January draw but if not until until tomorrow then their first draw would be the one on 1st February.shap101 said:If I transfer the funds tomorrow (the 1st). into my premium bonds account will it be too late for the December monthly draw

In most cases, you’ll need to hold them for a whole month before they’re eligible for the prize draw. For example, if you buy Premium Bonds any time in November, they’ll be in the draw in January

You could send it to a direct saver and earn 0.15%pa for the month while you wait for the end of December...?0

Thanks to all, gutted as I missed the Friday deadline by around 20 minutes.
It was from my post office account which had dropped to .01% on Friday it had to be transferred into my lloyds account as I don't have a debit card with the Postoffice account.
Jusr opened a new Postoffice account at 0. 39% and will transfer the funds back until the end of next month .
Thanks again

Before last Tuesday (24th Nov) sending it to a Direct Saver for a month would have been a good idea. Now though it's a bad one, you can earn the equivalent of 0.6%pa and get monthly interest with e.g. Aldermore, I believejsmith9 said:You could send it to a direct saver and earn 0.15%pa for the month while you wait for the end of December...?0 -
To clarify you have to have the money in premium bonds for one calendar month before they are entered into a draw. There was no Friday deadline for December draw.shap101 said:Thanks to all, gutted as I missed the Friday deadline by around 20 minutes.
