Car Subscription Service

Looking at 'Caasta's' prices, anyone attempting to use the service would have to be a complete moron. The monthly payments quoted are between three and four times more expensive than leasing the same car from a proper dealer. £700 a month for a low-spec Golf is insanity; giving consideration to paying £500 a month to rent a Toyota Aygo or Fiat 500* ought to get one sectioned. It's possible to lease either in the region of £150 to £300 p.c.m., with certain deals inclusive of insurance. Don't forget that you won't need to M.O.T. a lease car, or tax it and most have breakdown cover; Caasta's premium prices get you precisely nothing. Plus you have to pay them for the privilege of paying them absurdly inflated prices.
*One actually has to pay an ADDITIONAL £100 a month to get a Fiat 500 worth having with a manual gearbox. The base price gets a woeful spec 1.2 automatic, whereas £600 gets a 1.0 manual mild hybrid. It's a joke.0 -
The offer I was looking at is 400 a month for a golf match and you can change the car after 89 days or keep it for up to year The mileage is 15000 a year which seem to be better than a lot of the standard advertised prices which are 5000. but if you can point
me in the direction of something better that would be good?0 -
The Cyber Monday deal you linked to is £400 instead of - almost certainly - £500 for a "compact", which they say is a 500, Aygo or similar. A Golf is £600 "standard family", according to the pricing on the "tiers" (or is it levels?) page.
https://caasta.com/tiers
The membership fee is on top of that - £700 for year 1 for "compact", putting the non-deal first year to £700 + (12 x £500) = £6,700. The deal is £0 membership + (12 x £400) = £4,800 - so where they're getting the "Save £1,500" from, I'm not quite sure. For the Golf tier, it'd be £900 + (12 x £600) = £8,100.
That's a LOT of money. You could be driving a 12mo lease for a fraction of that cost from a proper lease company - a very quick google finds https://www.carleasing.co.uk/short-term-leasing

I've never heard of a "Car Subscription Service" before this thread but had a look on the interweb and there are several providers, including some car manufacturers and some of the larger daily hire companies. The one thing they seem to have in common is to be in competition with each other to provide the least MSE way to drive a car - I can't think if how to make driving more expensive!
There are short-term lease companies available, which make some sense for some people and have a clear market.
There are also the "car clubs" such as ZipCar, which again make some sense for some people and have a clear market.
I struggle to see anyone for whom a "Car Subscription Service" would be a great solution. Maybe there is something I am missing.0 -

Ford Mustang Fastback 5.0 V8 450 GT Lease Deal | Pink Car Leasing
To put this in perspective: you can get a Mustang for less per month than Caasta want for a poverty spec VW Golf. Caasta is very silly.0 -

I thought the whole point of a car subscription service (and the reason they were so blindingly expensive) was the ability to change cars either every month or whenever you wanted. You're in essence paying (3x over the odds) for a rolling monthly lease deal.
Heck, for the cost to lease that Golf for a year you could buy a 3 year old golf outright and drive it off a cliff afterwards.

In short term lease you have BMW 5 series for £439 https://www.pinkcarleasing.co.uk/flexible-short-term-car-leasing/bmw/5-series-saloon/530e-20-m-sport-auto/pre-current or Volvo V90 for £420 https://www.pinkcarleasing.co.uk/flexible-short-term-car-leasing/volvo/v90-estate/20-t4-190hp-r-design/pre-current Minimum rent is 3 months.
I looked into long term rental or short term lease in October and to rent something like Golf for a month was £720. Unfortunately I didn't know about Pink offer until November and by that time I ordered new car, but I would certainly use them for couple of months, as rental price looks reasonable. It doesn't say anywhere that car is brand new, but it says maintenance is included and warranty.

I wonder know if you have finally decided to use a car subscription service?
I'm doing a market research project and looking for British people (or people who have lived more than 5 years in UK) with car rental/subscription experience to do an online interview with my client.
My client is a famous EV manufacturer, they are looking to enter in UK market and would like to hear some insights from the consumers.
The meeting will be done via Zoom and will take 2-2.5hours, we have not decided on the date yet however it is going to be done before noon of 20th. of February. The remuneration is 150euros, please let me know if you are interested to participate,or if you know anyone who has subscription/rental experience and is interested in joining the project you can also contact me, i can provide referral fee to you (15euros/person).
