I am going to Cornwall for a 7day break in a lodge on 22nd December to 29th inclusive.Due to government rules I cannot travel on 22nd or 29th so I have to lose 3 nights stay, although the company has said they will compensate me for the loss do I have to accept this or can I insist
the give me a refund.

The accommodation is available. It is not the company's problem that you cannot travel there so they are not obliged to give you anything. What they offer is a goodwill offer.1

So you either go by their recommendations and not go at all or ignore them and it makes not difference when you travel down.0 -
If you turn up on the 22nd will they allow you to stay? If so, go. If not, they owe you for that night.0

Some hotels, holiday camps etc will not allow Tier 3 visitors to stay. It only comes to light when it becomes public. This is mainly because an infection would cause them to close and do a deep clean and affect their reputation so a lot of money at stake. However if this lodge is self catering they may be ok with it....you'll only know if you ask.But offering to compensate is generous because the accommodation is still there for you - unless they say you can't come.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I'm sure the people/businesses or Cornwall cant wait for the mass exodus from London & South East to spread the virus.....they wont be in T1 for long. Imagine your a local living in St Ives or similar with 3 or 4 empty properties near your and overnight a load of Chelsea tractors rock up for 2 weeks.0
