My trusty digital camcorder has given up the ghost and I'm looking at replacing it.
As I have loads of footage etc on mini dv tapes,therefore I would be looking at getting a mini dv camera.
Unfortunately money is scarce at the moment, so a portable tv studio is out of the question.
My previous on was a JVC GRDVX70, which I got in america about 8 years ago.
Can anybody advise on a good quality make/model that won't break the bank

Since you got your camera from America 8 years ago, its most likely that all your tapes are recorded in NTSC. Therefore, to be able to read all your old footage, you will need a camera that can read NTCS, and these are only availble in America! At least it won't break the bank if you get one from America... As for makes and models, any particular reason to not sticking with JVC?0
