Its an Arcam Alpha 7r, and you can get a remote for it. There is one on eBay now for £35, but I would need to DAC also.TadleyBaggie said:Does the HiFi amp support any type of remote control? In my A/V setup my HiFi amp is remote controllable and I use a Logitech hub to control all my devices via an app on my iPad.I just found this, it's like the DAC I linked to but with a remote. Reviews a ok but its hard to say : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-Toslink-Coaxial-Optical-Adjustable/dp/B07G71BG3V/ref=sr_1_18?dchild=1&keywords=optical+rca&qid=1606738483&s=electronics&sr=1-18That item is showing ‘unavailable’ but Amazon have this similar box @ £14.99...only a few left though.

Thanks, just as I was about to buy the one I linked to, it is no longer available!alanwsg said:The DAC with a volume control looks like your best bet, if you can get one.
BTW, the "HDMI extractor" you mentioned is not what you need, it connects to an HDMI source (E.G. skybox, games consol), not to your TV which doesn't provide a source.I'm probably going to go with this one, which is the same but with bluetooth. Only issue it seems is it automatically connects to bluetooth and you have to disconnect your bluetooth devices to choose the optical outputs. That could get annoying, but its hard to see until some real life testing! Its only £5 more, and bluetooth could be useful

Yeah I saw this one, I thought I'd just get the bluetooth one for a few more pounds, as it could be useful. Hopefully the automatic pairing won't be too annoying! If it was I could just remove the antenna maybe!alanwsg said:0
