Synthetic Duvets...........how to dispose ?

I started a thread recently on what to do with feather pillows when outer casing had seen better days. I received many great responses and now know that I will never be throwing them away as there are so many uses for the feathers.
However, what to do with duvets that are not feather. Do not know what to call the inners but certainly synthetic comes to mind.
Any advice ?

Local tip.1
-
absolutely not the local tip!
If they are in good condition and just surplus to requirements then a local charity which helps the homeless might take them
Some good condition ones also taken by certain charity shops (need their label intact)
I use them as dog beds, cut, wash, hem, make cover and sell then them for charity. Have raised around £3.5k that way. Pretty much everything upcycled , money to a charity and not sent to landfil!
win win win

A lot of Gardeners use old duvets to protect and insulate cold frames and greenhouses - do you have any allotments nearby?1

But the local tip claims "recycling"1

No allotments nearby 3SM.
Wonder what the re-cyclers at the tip do with them.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

I'm afraid at our tip they would and do go into landfill. (Along with a whole lot of other stuff that people just got tired of........)
In the past I have seen a person with a duvet and asked if they could give it to me- either sneakily pushed into my car (totally illegal) , or given to me outside tha gates.

Hello Katie
that is what I am afraid of. And I don't see that it's anyone's business to whom we give our unwanted items to. As long as it's outside the gates. Health and Safety..................AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
