Morning everyone
I've just been having a catch up. I should be at work but was awake through the night coughing and woke with a really sore throat. I feel like I'm going to be full of cold but can't go to work until I get the results as I work in a nursery. So I walked down to the testing place for half past 8 and was home again for 9. Hopefully results won't take long. it was all very efficient.
So I'm going to sort out my Christmas presents and do some wrapping....and make the most of the unexpected day off.
Hope everyone has a good day12 -
Morning all
Dry here but misty and cold, never mind I wont be going anywhere anyway. OH washed my hair yesterday (bliss) and then I had a bottom half shower making sure not to get the top half wet, then washed my face armpits ect with a wet flannel, I then removed all the dressings, I seem to be healing well the infection is doing down and I have a small hole under the other breast which is also healing, I then lay on the bed whild dd re dressed them for me, and dried my hair, clean pyjamas and I felt blissful afterwards, it was exhausting though and I was straight back on the sofa afterwards, I cant imagine I used to do all those miles on my bike when even a shower now exhausts me
There is some leftover chicken for dinner, dd will do some mash to go with it, I ate a small bit of chicken last night and a couple of small potatoes but it was very nice. DD has put a wash on and will tidy round the kitchen.
We have ordered a click and collect for just before xmas so need to put some bits on that as we think of them, we will still go to the shops as I like to pick some nice things out and I want to get some good cheese for xmas day tea.
Bella I am sorry to hear you are struggling I wish there was something I could do to hekp xx
Have good days all xx12 -
Morning all.
AOD I can join you in having done next to nothing in preparation for Christmas. I have bought Christmas cards, in the January sales, so nice cards cheaply. Are you taking note, mse monitors?
As a family we are not having our usual get together, for various reasons, not only Covoid related. We are going to do a Secret Santa, each posting a present to our selected recipient, and opening them on Christmas morning in a Zoom, whatever that may be. I'm not holding out any hopes that I will be able to Zoom on my tetchy tablet. This is OK with me as no,one will be able to see that I'm not even dressed.
I am gleefully hoping that this year I will be able to fulfil a lifetime's ambition and have Christmas day on my own. I have it all planned, even down to the famous Christmas Dinner, which atm is leaning heavily towards cheese on toast and rum & raisin ice cream.
Each to her own!

Morning all! Dull but not raining yet and not so cold today. The fire has been in for a few days so has warmed upstairs up as well, or at least our bedroom which has the chimney running through it. I sent Saturday taking apart the curtains I'm rejigging for the bay window. I need to add eight inches of contrasting fabric to the bottom and new liners to both after the old ones fell apart in my hands. I have chocolate velvet on top and some Ikea fabric I picked up years ago with stylised horses on it in different colours, some match the curtain colour where the background is mostly blue. Hope it looks OK because it won't drape the same as the velvet. I spent yesterday trying to work out sizes and how much to cut off the velvet, because I need a good-ish sized band, but am reluctant to cut the velvet. I'm going in with the scissors today so so look out.Other than that, and making yet another roast dinner yesterday, not a lot has happened. Another roast tonight with the leftovers. I haven't given much thought to Christmas, but then I do that every year. Completely ignore it until about the fifteenth and then go crazy. I always want to be organised but never seem to pull it off. This itme though, I don't want to be panicking about not enough room in the oven for things so I'm going to prepare as much as possible in advance, the stuffing, the broccoli cheese, sausage rolls etc.OHs mum wanted to know if we wanted to go there for dinner this week sometime. Um...yes, but no. We'll be in tier 2 and I don't fancy a thousand pound fine for going into someone else's house where we can be plainly seen as the extra car on the drive and noshing through the window [ they never close the curtains].Ruby, its nice to be clean isn't it, and no one ever cares about that if they don't feel well so you're on the up! Woop! dumpling, good to hear the antis are working. Scarlet, yes! That made me laugh, i do that too! Cheerleading woops for all of you looking after someone, it's not easy! ANyway, hey to all readers, stay well,or at least OK, may the force be with you Monday...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Hello all, another late day posting, sorry.I didn't sleep very well last night and up at daft o'clock so I have spent the morning just watching xmas movies, I think I'll go for a nana nap this afternoon too as I feel shattered. The only things that will be done today are press the on button for the DW and put the bins/recycling out ready for collection tomorrow.I am not looking forward to tomorrow either as Mr Fix It has his oncology review, I am hoping it won't be as bad as we are expecting.Take care all, stay safe and well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Nanny we will all be thinking o you and Mr fixit tomorrow.
Just as I posted this morning, it started to rain and it is still persisting down.
However my DS has made some sort of small cakes so I don't care, I have not had cake for months as far as I can remember. Admittedly that is not very far but still. There is a gorgeous buttery, spicy smell all through the house and I'm waiting for a cake once cooled down.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back11 -
Hi NAN I'll be thinking of you both tomorrow and wishing you kind thoughts. I remember well the feeling of dread I had whilst waiting for Bob's review appointments. A big ((HUG)) for you x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

Afternoon all,Nanny hope tomorrow goes better than you're expecting, will be thinking of you.Ruby it sounds like you're healing well, Gers too.I'm still on my big sort out after DS2 moved out. We sold the childrens bunk beds yesterday. We put them on f b market place on Friday and had 7 replies within minutes. Unfortunately the original buyer didn't show so dh messaged the next one , she quickly arranged someone with a bigger car to help transport it and set off an hour later! She was so pleased and sent a thank you msg after saying her daughter was delighted. Just glad it went as we'd separated the 2 halves and they were in the hall- we could barely get throughRight must carry on, have a good evening x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Afternoon - NAN - I will send all my positive thoughts to you and Mr Fix-it tomorrow. 💖Seems to be a mixed bag of fortune for everyone here...again, I'm sending up good vibes to sprinkle over the thread.I didn't go out in the end, outside isn't too inviting today and we can manage for food for a couple more days at least. I've been busy online, pulling money out of NS&I, buying wine
, amending an M&S Christmas food order and ordering a Christmas pudding from a local cafe online. There's been WhatsApp chats with a cousin in Germany, a nephew in Australia, a second cousin (as in daughter of a first cousin) in London and a friend in Newcastle. It would be easier to talk to them!
