Caravan insurance

I have also posted this in motoring thread. A friend has asked me to tow his caravan from the coast back to his house. The caravan is insured, and I have scanned my car insurance, but there is no mention of towing. Will the caravan be insured when someone other than the owner is towing it? If there was an accident, do I claim on my insurance or the caravan's if it is damaged? Struggling to clarify this, so if any insurance buffs can answer for me I would be thankful.

Your insurance will cover third party risk, ie if you change lanes forgetting how much longer your vehicle is and hit another vehicle with the caravan then that cars losses will be covered.
The caravan’s own insurance should cover damages it sustains whilst being towed.1 -
It could be messy on who claims from who. Depends on the blame. Your fault then your insurance will cover your vehicle but notrepairs to the caravan. Whether their insurance covers the caravan when they are not towing? no idea what does their policy say?The messy part is if someone crashes into you. Your insurance will claim for damages to your car, but will they claim for the caravanalso? Or will the caravan insurance or will you need to claim from the 3rd party that caused the accident.Have you towed before? Is the caravans gross weight within your cars limits and within your licence? My sisters limited on themax towing weight. She could tow my caravan with a Focus but not with a Mondeo. Silly as the Mondeo would be heavier andmore stable.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
