Insured to tow?

A friend has asked me to tow his caravan from the coast back to his house. The caravan is insured, and I have scanned my car insurance, but there is no mention of towing. Will the caravan be insured when someone other than the owner is towing it? If there was an accident, do I claim on my insurance or the caravan's if it is damaged? Struggling to clarify this, so if any insurance buffs can answer for me I would be thankful.

Car insurance normally includes third party cover for anything being towed, but not fully comp. When you took the policy out, your insurer didn't know if you'd be towing a £30k top-of-the-range caravan, or even a £30m classic Ferrari on a car trailer, so they can't possibly be expected to cover it.
If the collision is your fault, then your car insurance won't cover it - the caravan owner's insurance may, but you'd need to read it. But it will cover the damage to anything the caravan damages.
If the collision is the other person's fault, then their insurance will cover the caravan.
Obviously, that all assumes you have a B+E licence and the caravan is within the towing limits of your car. If not, then expect to be handed the bill.2 -
The caravan owner should have separate insurance for it.0
