Is there an Ombudsman for delivery companies?

I have looked online, but with no joy.
I have gone through the process of making an official complaint with the company. But they refused to take the matter any further. They have washed their hands of it because the delivery driver was sub-contracted. I feel my only other options are to take the matter forwards with an Ombudsman or take the matter through the small claims court.

There is no ombudsman so you would have to use other means.

Thanks for the swift reply. I sort of guessed that was the case. Which is disappointing.pramsay13 said:There is no ombudsman so you would have to use other means.

It’s a weird one with this. I had some property stolen from my garden back in September from a delivery driver who was delivering something to a neighbour. It was picked up by my CCTV camera and reported to the police and company. However the company acted so slowly. And their response has been rather shocking.0 -
What are you expecting the delivery company to do?Murphy_Gooner said:

What was the response of the police?0 -
Something was stolen from the delivery driver? Surely that's a matter for the delivery company anyway? Why does it concern you, other than it occurred on your property?0

I think they meant by not from1

It's a police matter. What are the police doing?1

If the police in the area where the OP's lives are anything like the police where I live, they are probably doing nothing apart from filing the report and issuing a crime number.Diamandis said:It's a police matter. What are the police doing?0 -
I don't think the delivery company have any responsibility for their subcontractor while he was acting outside of his contract.
Anyway, it's a criminal act, not something for a County Court Claim.2 -
There is a criminal aspect in terms of the theft but presumably the OP has suffered a financial loss of whatever was stolen and it is that they are looking to recover. Civil law has a lower hurdle rate than criminal law too so you do get cases of people being found “not guilty” but having to pay up in the civil case.KeithP said:Anyway, it's a criminal act, not something for a County Court Claim.
OP - what are you actually asking of the delivery company? That they identify the driver or are you trying to hold them liable for the drivers actions? Did the CCTV pickup the details of the registration of the vehicle the driver was using?0 -
Do you want the delivery company to name the driver? I dont think the Delivery company have any other responsibilties , not even sure they should name the driver ,that would be down to the police0
