Warm Home Discount - Tariff ended
Hi,
I wonder if anyone knows, I have a dual energy account with SSE and had the warm home discount added to my electric account, my tariff has now ended last week and now on the standard tariff, I wish to switch (I do this each year to get cash back) but my electric account is still in credit, do I have to use the credit up before I switch? or can I switch and take the credit with me? (I do pay DD each month so its not just the WHD that has put it in credit) I don't really want to stay on the standard rate as the standing charge is a lot higher then a fixed tariff and I dont want to stay with SSE as I want the cash back from switching.
Does anyone know? I don't want to speak to SSE as they may try and convince me to stay (I'm happy to stay with them but will switch to them via a cashback site so its not the company I just need to use a cash back site to switch.) I dont want a smart meter as I live in a block off flats with my electric metre outside in the bin store and a lot of the tariffs include smart meter.

You can switch - you will get a credit to your bank, not to the new supplier.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
