When did it last sell?Davesnave said:MaxJones said:London is falling every month for years
And from personal experience, the scummy little terraced property we rented off Willesden Lane in the late 60s for 20 guineas a week is now only worth around £1.2 million. Like the US election, it's a steal.jimbog said:

I live in a beautiful detached home up North with lovely views over countryside. Occasionally I would get the train to London for a conference. I would squash on an underground train hardly able to breathe for people. All looking glum and nobody says a word to each other. The words "it's grim up North", would keep playing in my mind. Always glad to get back home.5

You ignore the whole point of this thread. The question of this thread was , and still is , : will prices in the Midlands and North ever be cheaper than in the South-----to which the answer is a simple "No, of course not" ( assuming none of the nuclear disasters mentioned abovefred246 said:I live in a beautiful detached home up North with lovely views over countryside. So you live in a "beautiful detached house up North with lovely views over countryside". Good for you. So do I but it is in Kent. And its value will always be more than your castle up't North.
There are some lovely homes and lovely views up North---and a lot of cold and rain-----but none of that has anything remotely to do with this thread.

i like the north, in the summer, when it is nice and warm. but i would never live up north, not even if i was given a house for free up there. i would just sell it for what i can get for it and stay down here.
i am not alone in my thinking either, as demonstrated by the difference in property price.
property price in the north will only catch up with those in the south when people want to live up north, and until that happens, the answer is an emphatic no, and i don't even have to get my dusty crystal ball out of the cupboard to predict that answer.1 -
AskAsk said:london is vulnerable to terrorist attack. so if they ever managed to let off a nuke bomb in london, that could make london unhabitable. there are lots of places in the south that are very cheap. not all areas are expensive.Where? please do share!I've moved further away from London to make what I wanted within my reach, but I'd not call it "Not expensive".
