My computer has been unused for a year due to frequently changing personal circumstances. I’m now able to use it again so I’ve turned it on today and checked for updates and tried to install them but they have failed to install.
It said “feature update to Windows 10 version 1909 failed to install on 28 November 2020 0x802400b
It also said under Quality Updates “ 2020-10 Update for Windows10 version 1903 for x64-based systems (KB4023057) failed to install on 28 November 2020 0x802400b
I would be grateful for advice on how to fix this.
Many thanks.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 - use update assistant to jump straight to 10H2.

Have you tried the Windows built in update troubleshooter? It could well fix this.

I did try the trouble shooter but it couldn’t fix it sadly. Thank you. I haven’t tried the other suggestion yet so I will try that today.0

If all else fails - just keep rebooting.

When you have a backlog you often find there are failures but as said a few cycles it gets most of them done
I went with a 20h2 install on a old laptop and it was the smoothest install of W10 I have done for ages, ealier ones nearly always had an update cycle to work through.
That may be an option back up and fresh install, if you don't have too many extras to reinstall.
Might as well ask, has it got SSD if not that could be an option while messing with it anyway to give it a new lease of life.
