Shop refund on ApplePay, how quick?

Yesterday I took a faulty item back for a refund. It was purchased with ApplePay on my iPhone.
I used the phone for the refund in the same way as used for a purchase. The till roll shows refund and the ApplePay correct last 4 digits.
However, there is nothing showing in the usual place where purchases appear on my phone, and nothing “pending” with the associated bank card.
Any idea how long the refund should take? It is a little concerning to not see any sign of the activity.

When you get a refund via ApplePay nothing show straight away unless it cancelled on the merchant's end. Whenever I get refunds Via ApplePay it's 1-3 days.
