Proof of name change

Options
Hi 20 years ago I used my partners/father of my children’s surname, I had a couple of account with little woods, I reverted back to my name when we broke up, but now my ppi is being processed they want proof of name change, which I do not have, as it was not official, where do I stand regarding this? Will my claim be rejected if I can not give proof.

It is possible that they wil refuse to investigate without evidence that it is you (i.e. it wont even get the uphold/reject stage).
Does the children's birth certificates carry your actual name or used name from that period?    They normally have the mother's date of birth, address and full name.   So, they could be enough to persuade them it is you.
