Morning all.
I think it may be a slothful day here as we both woke up late and are still having breakfast. Will have to pop out for a paper as we like the weekend tv guide that comes with it but otherwise it will be watching the rugby and knitting. H/m chicken curry tonight and marmite mushrooms on toast for lunch.
Happy Saturday everyone11 -
Morning all.
So glad you enjoyed your visit from the girls TA. It must have felt like a bit of normality.
I had forgotten what it was like to feel busy. I am frantically trying to catch up with my knitting orders. My vicar friend has ordered more stuff for the boxes she is taking round to her lonely parishioners. If I had the hair I could double as Rapunzle.
Today I have a bit of a change in that I'll be wrapping all the little gifts for DGD's Advent Box. All 24 of them.
I am still trying to get to grips with what the various Tiers mean. We are lucky here to be in Tier 1. I'm telling everyone that it is a reward for living a virtuous life. In reality I think it is due to the stretch of water that separates us from the mainland.
I looked to see if we would be having church services again. It appears that churches will be open but the rule of 6 must be observed. I picture a long queue outside the church and half a dozen being allowed in for a quick service before being being ushered out again and the next 6 being allowed in. In the popular churches the Vicar will be at it all day.
It's never worth it.
I still have a plethora of eggs, but don't think I can face another omelette. I'll be egg-bound before long. Think I'll have a break from knitting and make cake this weekend.

Morning all
Its mt Darling dd's Birthday today so she has been unwrapping presents and was very pleased with what I had chosen for her, she has had a really tough year with one thing and another so its nice to spoil her. I have ordered a baileys cheesecake from a local woman who makes them its dd's favourtie and I would normally make her one but cant atm, so dd will drive me there to collect it, I wont get out of the car but it will be nice to get out for a ride (blimey how old do I sound) I am also treating us to a chinese T/A tonight as we are unable to go out so I am looking forward to that.
I slept so much better last night without the drains in and even managed to sleep slightly on my side which was bliss, I nornally sleep on my tummy but wont be doing that for quite some time !!
OH and dd will have a quick tidy through today, me ?? back on the sofa watching the crown which I love, thanks Nels for the recomendation.
Gers I am glad all went well yesterday take it easy xx
Bella thinking of you xx
Have good days all xx8 -
Morning all, it's a dark and dank day again.Dozy Dora here has taken the wrong meds again, the night time ones instead of morning ones, same meds just double doses, I swear if I'd half a brain I'd be dangerous ! Thank goodness there's nothing housework wise that needs doing today, by lunchtime I probably couldn't work out how to do it anyway.DD made a flying visit to collect her parcels this morning on her way back from the garage, she'd been for a quote for a new windscreen as hers has a scratch on it ..... £ 310 ! Now I am waiting for 2 more parcels to arrive today, so that will only leave 1 outstanding, unfortunately I have another order to place next week but then I'm done for birthdays and Xmas this year.I watched a new Xmas film last night called " Last Christmas" t'was on sky, won't spoil it in case anyone wants to watch it, but I enjoyed it, easy watching and very christmassy.Tea tonight will be either yesterday's leftover Mediterranean chicken or something using up the corned beef leftover from the sandwiches at tea time, perhaps corned beef hash.We have new restrictions from next Friday too, seems all indoor entertainment venues cinemas, bowling avenues etc will be closed but all the gyms can stay open ? That seems bonkers to me but we will get more news on Monday. The firebreak obviously hasn't worked at least not here, our cases have doubled
Won't make any difference to us but I worry about DD and family.
Scarlett thanks for highlighting that there maybe problems at the Royal Mail, I've written my cards and tomorrow I must write the letters to go in them, now I will post them early next week.Gers hope the pain and swelling subside quickly. Glad it's all over for now.Ruby hugs, hope the infection clears up asap.Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
Afternoon all,
Cool here today, had a little walk around outside earlier, will try to do two more before dark.....need the air and exercise.
My appointment with consultant for Monday has been confirmed, had letter from hospital where I have an appointment for 16th December to say that the appointment will now be a telephone consultation......glad of that as hospital is in city and a nightmare for parking.
DD1 and DGD7 have been busy sorting out Christmas decorations.....DD says that she has ordered an artificial tree.......I never have them so not sure what attitude to take......prefer a real tree!
Ruby, glad that you are sleeping and resting, the easier you take things the better you will recover. Happy birthday to DD, she deserves a bit of spoiling.
We are moving to level3 on Tuesday, won't make much difference to us, as we aren't going anywhere anyway! I buy so few presents they will be done online so no need to fuss. I am knitting another sweater for myself........I want to dispose of most of the sweaters I have as they are as old as myself.
Have a good weekend, even if just relaxing, stay safe.Weight 08 February 86kg10 -
