in Motoring
On my way to drop my kid to school (next town near my office but I was off today), I drove dangerously and a police car stopped me over.
the gentleman rightly told me off and I am still in shock after what I have just done (worrying about reaching late over reaching safely). I promised the officer to never let this happen again. While he didn’t ask my license details. He asked for my name and asked me to go back on the road safely.
am I now in a scare if I am in trouble? Will I be getting a letter?

Please, before you lambast me further, I have learned my lesson but just need your help to calm my nerves regarding the post!
appreciate if you can help me with it!

I don't think you will hear anything further from this, learn your lesson & take it a bit easier, leave a little earlier in future.0

Nothing's going to happen. Get on with your day ad drive more safely.

What did you do?
You didn't give your licence details, and you didn't get given any paperwork? Then you've just been read the riot act, and it won't go any further. Take the hint...
Low-level Careless Driving/Driving Without Due Care and Attention is a 3pt £100 fixed penalty, or sometimes a course (online, currently).
Dangerous driving is a much more serious offence, and includes a mandatory 1yr minimum ban requiring an extended test.
If you really were going to face charges of Dangerous, you would not have just been given a roadside waggy-finger.1 -
You probably passed the 'attitude test'. A telling off was all that was required.1

If you read the Highway Code you'll see school run parents are immune to prosecution, drive and park to suit yourself, everyone else is irrelevant. Some councils are issuing flashing lights and sirens to motoring parents to indicate how important their journey is.

Thank you! Just felt extremely bad with my kid witnessing the telling off, but it’s what it was.Won’t let it happen again at any cost1

I wouldn't be stressing too much.
I was stopped for speeding a few months back, no details taken.. they simply pulled up by my driver's side and said to be wary of my speed in future or words along those lines..I apologised and they were on their way.
Nothing to worry about, lesson learned and move on, that's it.
*Ultimately it's not about reducing speed in future to 'avoid being stopped again' but to minimise the risk to yourself and/or other road users and pedestrians.1 -

Ask yourself this. If the police hadn't pulled you over, would you have been aware of your error and would you have analysed it afterwards to prevent it happening again? If yes then chalk it down to experience.1

What exactly were you doing to cause the police officer to stop you? Don't do that again! As AdrianC points out - it wasn't Dangerous Driving (a legal term) but something that deserved a warning.I need to think of something new here...1
