Morning all. Foggy and cold today. It's been a while since I've seen fog here. It's pretty darn cold. Yesterday I spent some time in the garden, moving earth around, hoiking things out of the ground and putting them in pots, potting up strawberry runners and two baby aloes I managed to save off the monster plant that used to be my mothers. Took the tomatoes down from the greenhouse and sorted out the pots into what's going to live and what isn't. As a result, ankle is now throbbing again and creakiness abounds. But the fire stayed in and I've shoved some peat bricks on it to keep warm.Oh tried to get the glue from the polystyrene tiles off the ceiling yesterday with the heat gun. After an hour he'd only managed to remove not even a meter square, so we decided to give up and get it skimmed. No new paint job for Christmas....Time flies, we're nearly out of lockdown again, we'll be in tier 2, so the goth box will see some action at last...No slow cooker action today, fajitas instead, it's been a while and while OH will happily eat them everyday, I've only just got round to facing them again. I think a general Friday tidy is on the cards too. The Christmas box that holds the lights and decorations has to be gone through and I have to think about Christmas presents...It's not like I haven't had time to, I just haven't...Ruby, take care, once the drains are out you'll feel better , well done for eating too. Dumpling, take care too. The advent cards sounds lovely. Gers, good luck with the graft. TA, enjoy the company! Scarlet dog stockings!
Bella, I'm not skip diving now, in fact, I'm the one pushing for things to be chucked out, OH is telling me no...:) Hope your mum can be helped... Happy Friday fifteenth plus twelve...

Morning all.I had a very bad night and was still awake at 5am worrying about silly things, but then decided to drop off for a couple of hours hence my late start today. I think I wore myself out too much yesterday as I didn't stop, I even did the ironingI have nothing much on the cards for today except cooking and keeping company with Dad as he's coming over for lunch and tea. He wants us to pay his leccy bill and for Mr Fix It to fix his glasses as the arm keeps falling off, but I hope he behaves himself today or he will be shown the door tout suite. We are having Mediterranean chicken with proper chips ( deep fried as requested by the boys ) I don't cook those chips normally because of the fat / calories content and as I no longer possess a fryer or chip pan, they will be done in the wok. Tea will be a selection of sandwiches and a lemon meringue pie.NMLC hope the work situation gets sorted soon.Ruby and I hope the drain removal is swift and you feel better for it.Bella hugs to you and your DMGers good luck and I hope you don't freeze in the chair.Topsy I hope the eye drops work for your DS.
TA enjoy the day with your girls.Right I'd better make a start on lunch, well after another coffee or two...... boy do I need those today.Take care all, stay safe and keep well, I'll be round with the trolley later, catch of the day more lemon meringue pie.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Morning again
Drains are outone really hurt coming out the other I did not feel at all, its such a relief to get them out and I can move more freely, dressings removed and I have an infection under one boob and a small piece of missing skin under the other, one dressing was very smelly where the infection was and I have a rash all over chest from the dressing, he has not re-dressed them properly but put silk dressings over them (get me
)which are held in place by my bra, it feels so much more comfortable, he has given me a new course of anti-biotics to hopefully clear the infection.
At home now and on the sofa under blanket, promise Miss Nelsgoing to finish my cup of tea and then snuggle down, I started watching the crown yesterday and am hooked so will continue that today. Camelot your drain bags were so handy and much admired by the nurses
Gers hope all goes well today I shall be thinking of you xxx10 -
Hi everyone,
Good luck Gers and Ruby, I hope everything goes smoothly.
NMLC, I hate when bosses do that. Brian's work is going through a restructuring as well so he is undergoing that stress as well as all the worry over his mum who has now been transferred to an oncology unit.
TA, I feel your pain, we should really be in tier 1 but because we are lumped in with Bedford and especially Luton (which is miles away) so we are in tier 2. Having said that it won't relly alter our lives although Steve will be able to resume his golf.
I had a wobbly day yesterday with everything that is going on, all the uncertainty over Christmas etc. I was in two minds whether to decorate but Steve has persuaded me so we are going to get a tree today. We made a decision to suggest to the kids that we don't exchange presents and give money to charity to try to provide a happier Christmas for those who have been hard hit by the virus. I think they will probably agree, they can still exchange gifts between themselves. I've got a couple of small things for Esben but he's too young to know anything about it.13 -
Ruby - I came back to see how your procedure had gone, you'll feel so much better with the drains out though the wee infection doesn't sound too good. Silk dressings are wonderful!I've dug out my thick wool tights which I'll wear under my trousers and have double vest and double jumper on top. I've also brought out my emergency foil blanket to use if needed. You may laugh along with me l but having two windows open in Glasgow in November for over two hours is no joke. Last time I was so chilled that it took a hot shower and a long time in bed with the electric blanket on to get me to stop shivering.Won't have any new teeth to show off until about this time next year. Bone grafts are left to bond for six months, then the wee posts are put in and left for four months and then the crowns are put on. In for the long haul, at least it means I can pay as I go.Just off to give DM an early lunch before I gear up.SNOOZER - what a lovely idea for Christmas.10
