Iva help

Hi, I’ve just received an email from a company saying they have taken on one of my debts and that I need to now inform my Iva company of this so they can update payment details, my question is do I have to do this? I thought that all contact with creditors ceased when taking an Iva and that the Iva and creditors would sort this out themselves without me having to get involved. Any help or advice is much appreciated

  • Best thing to do would be to call your iva company

You are correct in that you are not obligated to have any further creditor contact once settled into your IVA.
However the creditor knows full well that in order to be incuded in your IVA they must put their claim in writing to your IP, its not your job to do this for them, so why they are contacting you I do not know.
My suggestion would be to email back reminding them if they want to benefit from your arrangement its up to them to contact the IP, and not you.
