Covid risk and Love2shop vouchers

I had saved up Love2shop vouchers that were gifted to me. I struggle financially as my contribution for my care at home has risen and costs me £3,000 a year from my benefits and I have a mortgage.
I contacted Love2shop in March as my paper vouchers were due to expire end of March, I couldn’t go out because of vulnerability, shops that I wanted to use did not take the paper vouchers for online shopping and we were in lockdown. Carers weren’t turning up and I am 4 years into severe post viral M.E. as well as adhesive arachnoiditis. I sleep up to 23 hours a day. I was told that the vouchers would be extended because of Covid.
ive just found out they were only extended until the end of July, a time that I could still not go out and when I didn’t have my carers because of Covid. Apparently it was on social media.
I feel Love2shop have stolen the money they were holding for me. The extension did not take into account people’s vulnerability. What do other people think?

It was nice they gave 4 months extension.
Sadly with all these vouchers they have a expiry, usually a year at least from purchase in my experience. So saving them up is a risk, not only on them expiring but also the company going bust.
I'm afraid that they have already gone a long way to assist people.

Absolutely don't accuse them of stealing your money or being inconsiderate though, that would be a surefire way of making sure they don't even consider helping! They were not obliged to make the original extension in the first place, so it depends how far their goodwill will stretch. Artist from the time and energy it will take, you have nothing else to lose by trying.
I assume you can't even guarantee when you might be able to get back out so any further extension runs the risk of not being long enough as well. Maybe you could ask if there is any way of converting them to vouchers that can be used online.1 -
Surprised they only had a year on them. I got some in October and they were in date until end of 2022.0

Love2shop vouchers usually have a date of at least 18 months on them, so in this case i think expecting those vouchers to be extended further than they already were is asking an awful lot.

This is the danger of saving things like this up. TBH, being disabled has little bearing on them expiring. As it would have been the same for even the able bodied. Given the situation this year.
I know this is not really what the OP wants to hear, but if they knew they were expiring at the end of March. Lockdown only started 23 March. So OP was cutting it fine anyway with only 8 days left on them.Life in the slow lane0 -

You can sell vouchers (normally with a small loss in true value) at many sites https://www.cardyard.co.uk/sell#!/sell-wizard being one

Sorry about your lost vouchers, I know what you mean about sleeping 24 hours a day. How on earth did you manage to get anyone to help you. I have had severe ME Post Viral Infection or CFS for over 30 years, many years bed bound, never been offered such help. I think I just was expected to carry on or give up and die. Any advice is welcome. Hope you get your vouchers back.0
