Recommendations for a laptop for Christmas

Please can I have your recommendations for a laptop for my adult son. I’d like to treat him. He streams videos from you tube and plays the game old school runescape which he wants to continue to play. He would like a spec that could play Minecraft Java edition. He uses it very little for surfing the web or email. It needs to be a laptop not a desktop as our personal situation is not permanent. What would you all recommend. Thank your for your time.

First question, what's your budget?

Not sure. Thought I’d start with what would be the kind of price for a laptop of that spec and then Re prioritise the spec if it sounds a lot of money!0

Any suggestions anyone? I forgot it was Black Friday so anything special anyone has seen? Thank you.0

What's the upper limit of your budget? Pointless making recommendations if they're uneconomical. For example this will do more than what you've mentioned, but £650 may be way over budget.1

Ok thank you. Maybe a budget of up to £500. What would I get for that. And would it do the things he’d like with ease. Thank you.0

What does he play them on now? and is he happy with the performance on that? They don't appear to need much in terms of hi-performance, but I don't play either so I don't know.

He’s got an old Acer laptop he had for school quite a few years ago. He can’t seem to play the Old school Runescape or the Minecraft Java on it so no he’s not happy with what he’s got.0

a few come up on hotukdeals at that spec with that price. Easily achievable on a 14” screen, some available on 15.6”.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks both. I would just do an online chat with curry’s but I thought the wise thing to do would be to ask on here first before I contacted curry’s just in case there is better advice on this forum. I’ll look on hotukdeals. Where else should I look?0
