Regular energy switches not be me
Hi, for the fourth time in the last 6 months I have received an email from my energy supplier saying that they are sorry to see me go as a new supplier is taking over. However, I have not at any time looked to change my supplier, and on each occasion when I have asked who the request to move to was, they have been different suppliers. So not sure if someone is deliberately doing this, it can't as my current supplier have suggested, just be someone typing in the wrong details. I have asked my current supplier if they can put a block on unless I contact them to advise that I plan to change, and they say they can't do that. So as it stands it looks like I just have to keep going through the same process over and over again. Unless anyone knows how this can be stopped?

Is your address one that is easily confused - Flat 1 , 126 High St or 126B High St or Top Flat 126 High St ............
This might be someone trying to switch and gets the address wrong.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Where are your meters? are you sure they are your meters? Do the serials match those on your bill? Are there suplicate meters on the national database? And many other meting things potentially.Agree about the address points too. If you address right on the national database. The supplier may just have it wrong on their system (well right but offical right is what the database says, so wrong!). Is there a duplicate address on the national database? How recently was the place built? Might be plot numbers still on national database or someone else's is a plot number but matches your house number. Flats? (These are always open for many issues!).0

If you live in a block of flats check that each meter has the flat label and check the serial number with your bills. Have another person access to your bills ?0

If they won't intervene in a meaningful way, after you have asked them to, maybe you should just let them keep making the same mistake and then seek compensation.Perhaps after a few payments they might decide to be a bit more proactive.0
