Final Bill

Utilita sent me a FINAL BILL in Feb 2020 and I paid.  Went to new supplier.  Then on the 3 of June get a £310.10 bill, was not happy but paid because I did not want my credit rating affected. I have complained to the Energy ombudsman as well as Utilita and I am being told this is correct as this is for energy supplied from a failed company they took over autumn last year ( Eversmart) . My argument is they sent a FINAL BILL and if a Judge in a court of law says it's final you expect nothing less!!! My other point is there was not any mention in the letter stating that if you were any Eversmart customer that we have acquired there may be adjustments to be made and to come after 9 months later!        I made the offer of £150.00 compensation to me but both Energy ombudsman and Utilita have offered £40.00.I made this offer as a halfway point. If I had sent out a FINAL BILL it would be exactly that. I regard this as running word.

You received a final bill for the usage you used / owed from Utilita.

The fact that you also owed money for usage you used from eversmart is separate.

    Take the £40
    What is the running word?

I think the OP means 'the final/last word'?
However, it is not the final/last word. They can bill you up to 6 years after the event if it's been mis-billed.
