I decided to ring rather than hoping for it not to be working and was working there end which they said it was. My reading was 18 which I'm not sure how correct this usage would be from 5 days usage my boiler has been on for about 12 hours according to my nest thermostat.
18M3 is approx. 200kWh, but was that just the current meter reading or were they saying that was your consumption since your last bill?

    200 kWh is about £5

  • Just a little update. I've been checking the meter and it's not been changing so I have them another call. Today I have been told its communicating but the reading isn't changing so they have scheduled me a new gas meter to be fitted which isn't until near the end of January.

I was told that they will use an estimated usage to bill me. Is this correct as to me that doesn't seem fair. If they can take a reading of the meter when it's removed I would happily pay that but I don't want to pay an estimate

They should be able to extract the data from the old meter.

  • Ok thank you. I'll wait and see what they say after the new meter is fitted.
