Advice on trustee bank accounts

Hi,
My mother and father passed away recently and left their estate to go into trust, with myself (as the sole surviving heir) and I expect to appoint my eldest niece as a joint trustee to administer the account. Where can I go to get advice on how to set this up and where to set it up? I may just take my half of the money, as indicated in the will and re-invest it elsewhere until I decide what to do with it - is that a problem?
Thanks for your help.
Steve

Solicitor and probably an accountant as well, neither are cheap. What was the reason for setting up the trust, they can be complicated as well as expensive?0

I agree with Nottingham - if you are the sole heir what is the reason for a trust?
Sorry if we appear to be nosey.0
