For sure! Sorry if I have come across ungrateful for the £50 limit, that is not the casePRAISETHESUN said:My first card had a £200 limit... gotta start somewhere!0 -

Why not just send them the pay slips, then you can have an £800 credit limit? If you are looking to build a healthy credit record that is more than enough, any more than that and it would appear that you were seeking to rack up debt again.MoneyMan98 said:Oh Sure.. 100% I was just hoping for a higher limit to make a bit more of an impact with balances/ utilisation etc
I would be more than happy with £200 limit, I 100% don't want more than 800

Of course it well if used right. £800 is much better than a £50 limit for utilisation and in point of having the cardMoneyMan98 said:
Thank you, so probably increasing that £50 limit that wont help me rebuild credit really hahahadamp87 said:Sounds like they just want proof of salary. They wouldn’t have offered the card and then sent that email without knowing your history0 -
It's only a £50 limit until they verify your income. It's just a safeguard - in case you're 'really' unemployed. Once they've verified income - you'll get the £800 limit - unless you've falsified your income of course.MoneyMan98 said:

The "up to" will probably depend on how your pay is structured, regular hours, overtime, commission, bonuses, furlough etc. if you are on a fixed wage of £30k pa then it is likely that you will get the £800 limit, if you are on a basic of minimum wage, but have a high percentage which is not guaranteed such as commission or overtime then they may offer a lower limit.MoneyMan98 said:I have submitted my slips to see if I will get the increase, I was more asking if anyone has had the same correspondence and if they got the full £800 with it saying 'up to £800'1 -
Don't they usually say they'll close it if you don't send proof of income within 45 days? I had similar on platinum card. Given £200 limit but raised to £3500 if I uploaded payslips.Mine quite clearly said if I didn't upload the payslips or statements they'd close it in 45 days.I did it and my limit was updated within a day. To the limit they could "unlock" - £3500.

A good to know, mine looked slightly different and didn't mention closing within 45 days if I didn't supply data.. just said £50 would remain.funkycredit said:Don't they usually say they'll close it if you don't send proof of income within 45 days? I don’t think Barclays the bank and Barclaycard act together as you would think do they?
Your account closing could be anything but usually a fraud marker or something has triggered. The should send you a letter.
or perhaps something on your credit files spooked them0 -
What makes you think they've closed the account? What did they say or do?0
