British Gas Smart Meter Owners
Hey, We've recently switched to a smart meter with British gas. Trying to figure out why our energy usage has tripled and noticed a strange thing. Every day is different apart from a 5 day block where gas and electricity usage appears to be exactly the same. This seems very odd and unbelievable. What are the chances of using exactly the same energy every day for 5 days?

It's a glitch - ignore it.
By energy do you mean gas ? It's possible the old meter was recording in cu ft and the new in m3 and the records have been updated wrongly if at all. First check the serial numbers and details on the meterNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Do you mean that your present actual measured usage is higher than your previous estimated usage?0

It is just a glitch in the system. Sometimes it goes a few days without putting the usage on the graphs. When it catches up again it just averages out the energy used over the number of days it didn't update.1
