Night Energy 5 times as much as day?

SSE have been estimating my bill for a while( my fault, although I gave them a reading today), they estimate my annual usage as 10,2136 night and 2447 day. I have 2 storage heaters, which are off throughout the summer, and the smaller one I ripped out a month or so ago.
Communication with them is “challenging” to say the least. Thoughts?

Don't forget your Immersion Heater is on as well.  Day is very average.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • They won't know you've removed one of the storage heaters. When was the last time your bills weren't estimated? Will the remaining storage heater provide sufficient heat or do you have an additional source ready for winter?

My thoughts are you should be submitting monthly readings to your online account.

Then it will not be so challenging?

Why are you "ripping out" your only source? Of heating. Prior to winter.

But your recent actual readings will  now ensure you are now being billed  at your  correct consumption.

my thoughts are the same as others - they dont know how much you use if you dont send in readings neither are they aware that you took out a heater (why, may I ask).

If you've now give them the correct readings then your bill should also be corrected however be aware that if you start heating your place using day time leccy then your peak rate consumption is likely to increase dramatically.

TBH if you'd been sending in readings regularly and check that your bills or on line statements are using them then you shouldn't have needed to have "challenging" communications with them.

Now you've read your meters you are in a position to calculate your own annual usage .  Find the reading you gave them 12 months ago and do some simple sums. What is your ACTUAL annual consumption ?
