AXA decline travel insurance claim despite me not submitting the claim form

Your son will need to check the policy wording carefully. Some policies won’t cover for FCO advice unless the country is at war. Pandemics aren’t automatically covered especially if they are a known possibility. Check the exact wording.0

Surely the OP just needs to submit the claim along with the evidence?
AXA cannot decline the claim as the claim has not been submitted, as referenced in the title of this thread?0 -
It looks like the phone call was treated as a claim
When you call us, or register your claim online, we’ll quickly assess and record your claim.

This is true as I found out when I was told by an insurance company I had submitted a collision claim within past 3 years! I hadn’t - I phoned for advice as a neighbour ran into back of my stationary car and was arguing with me about who was responsible 😂. He eventually paid for it without going through insurance but my phone call was logged as a claim!sheramber said:It looks like the phone call was treated as a claim

That is still disinclination to travel. There is no legal requirement to travel with insurance. Many people do it, foolish though that might be.Irish_Steve said:
Yeah but his policy says that he wouldn't be covered if he flew against FCO advicemacman said:There were no travel restrictions, only travel advisories. Different thing entirely: he remained free to travel, but chose not to.No free lunch, and no free laptop
